SATURDAY 7:30PM - Since forming in 2007, the seven-piece New Orleans roots-driven rock band logged countless miles on the road, cultivating a high octane live show and a studio presence equally steeped in instrumental virtuosity and charismatic vocal magnetism. Following two independent releases, 2010’s Vital Signs and 2014’s City of Sound, that time and dedication came to a head on the group’s third full-length album, Men Amongst Mountains [Wind-Up Records]. As much as it’s the culmination of their work thus far, it opens up a new chapter for the band—David Shaw [vocals], Zack Feinberg [guitar], Ed Williams [pedal steel guitar], Rob Ingraham [saxophone], George Gekas [bass], Andrew Campanelli [drums], and Michael Girardot [keys, trumpets]. “The title sums up our collective feeling,” says Shaw. “We started to find ourselves on festival bills with our idols and in front of huge crowds. We thought, ‘We’re amongst these giants, but we’re holding our own.’ We felt like we stood up and met the challenge by simply being who we are as The Revivalists.” That honesty turned both fans and critics into believers. Upon release, Men Amongst Mountains debuted at #2 on the Billboard Alternative Albums Chart and Top 10 on the iTunes Alternative Albums Chart while quickly racking up nearly 2 million plays on Spotify all through word of mouth. Rolling Stone, NPR, Nylon, and more would sing their praises as they launched a headline tour that sold out dates across the country. It all comes back to the group’s sound though. “Everyone adds his own unique imprint to it,” Shaw goes on. “There’s always an element of surprise, because it’ll be groove-oriented, but unconventional. We lock in, and something different happens.”

SATURDAY 5:30PM - Dumpstaphunk stands out among New Orleans’ best as one of the funkiest bands to ever arise from the Crescent City. Born on the Jazz & Heritage Festival stage, and descended from Neville family bloodlines, these soldiers of funk ignite a deep, gritty groove that dares listeners not to move. Their performances combine ingenious musicianship and complex funk and jazz arrangements with soulful melodies that are simple enough for anyone to enjoy. In Big Easy tradition, dueling baselines from Tony Hall and Nick Daniels III set off one of the dirtiest rhythm sections on the planet, while Ivan Neville lights up the Hammond B3 keys and cousin Ian Neville’s funky guitar riffs send the groove into overdrive. The band recently welcomed their newest member, Alvin Ford Jr. to the quintet, a New Orleans born and raised powerhouse drummer. Dumpstaphunk tosses around lead vocals and four-part harmonies the way Sly & the Family Stone did, but with three studio albums under their belt, Dumpstaphunk stands on the merit of their own material. Songs like “Dancin’ To The Truth” off their latest record, Dirty Word (July 30, 2013, Louisiana Red Hot Records), offer an escape into the funky sublime, sharing the true spirit of New Orleans with every note.

SUNDAY 4:30PM - Guitarist, singer, and songwriter Tab Benoit makes his home near New Orleans in Houma, Louisiana. Born November 17, 1967, he's one of a handful of bright rising stars on the modern blues scene. For most of the 1990s and into the 2000s, he's worked each of his records the old-fashioned way, by playing anywhere and everywhere he and his band can play. Unlike so many others before him, Benoit understands that blues is not a medium in favor with 50,000-watt commercial rock radio stations, so as a consequence, he's combined each of his releases with as many shows as he can possibly play. Since the release of his first album for Justice, Benoit has taken his brand of Cajun-influenced blues all over the U.S., Canada, and Europe.Nice and Warm, his debut album for Houston-based Justice Records, prompted some critics to say he was sometimes reminiscent of three blues guitar gods: Albert King, Albert Collins, and Jimi Hendrix.

    TONY JOE WHITE
SATURDAY 3:30PM - White grew up around cotton, the youngest of seven children raised on their father’s farm. Young Tony Joe was alert to every detail of his surroundings: its aromas, tastes and sounds, the scent and feel of swampland. He knew well the trials of work in the fields and the stories spun late at night, stories peopled by preacher men and conjure women, serenaded by train whistles and illuminated by spells and signs. From his first club gigs some 50 years ago, and since his debut album Black and White in 1969, these memories have taken shape in his songs. Many of them were covered by other artists: “Rainy Night in Georgia” by Brook Benton and Hank Williams Jr., “Willie and Laura Mae Jones” by Dusty Springfield, and of course “Polk Salad Annie” by Elvis. But others really couldn’t survive in anyone’s hands but his — the ones that flowed over hypnotic single-chord drones, with White’s slithery guitar fills and husky, haunted vocals. White has lived long enough to see plenty of changes. His star rose, leading to collaborations with Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Tina Turner, J.J. Cale and other admirers. At the same time, recording and concert technology changed the act of making and playing music into something foreign to those who were schooled on John Lee Hooker, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Hank Williams, backwoods church shouts and hints of the supernatural.

FRIDAY 8PM - Bishop Gunn is an American rock n' roll band hailing from the historic town of Natchez, Mississippi. The band was formed in the summer of 2014 as a studio project. Their style, which is rooted in blues-based hard rock, has come to also incorporate elements of folk, and rhythm and blues. The band got it's name from the tomb stone of John Edward Gunn an Irish-born prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Bishop of Natchez from 1911 until his death in 1924. Lead guitarist Hudson Laird & drummer Burne Sharp, originally in a band together met up with vocalist Travis McCready, and formed BISHOP GUNN for their debut show at The 2014 Great Mississippi River Balloon Race. In the summer of 2015 after searching for a permanent bass player BISHOP GUNN recruited Daniel Scott who previously played drums in a band with vocalist Travis McCready. After months of recording original music the band decided to take things further with their first tour on the "Americana Music Triangle" which stretches from Nashville, Tennessee to New Orleans, Louisiana, and the surrounding areas. The current line up consist of Hudson Laird (lead guitar), Travis McCready (lead vocals), Burne Sharp (drums), and Daniel Scott (bass). BISHOP GUNN released their debut album in June 2016, and is touring the United States.

SATURDAY 12:00PM - Ben is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist hailing from Natchez, MS, a town rich in culture and history in a state rooted in the blues. With musicians on both sides of the family, he was exposed to a wide variety of music at a very early age. At age 10 he began playing trumpet, but found his true passion at age 12 when he was given his first hand-me-down guitar by his aunt. In the late summer of 2006, Ben moved back to Natchez, MS and reunited with former members of Double Shot, Jon Borum and Bob Buseck along with long time friend and drummer, Aaron O'Brien to form In Red Letters. IRL quickly gained popularity in the local bar scene with the release of their first and only album Beautiful World. In 2008, IRL played their biggest show at the Great Mississippi River Balloon Festival for the Friday night balloon glow. In 2010, Ben recorded a short EP entitled "Friends" at a local studio in Natchez, MS. This EP featured guest appearances by many local musicians and friends he had made in his years playing in the area. He continued to tour the local area until 2014 when he moved to Little Rock, AR. Ben just completed his full length album with Sharp Sound Design. "This Town" was released in July of 2016.
